This is a sample entry that demonstrates every layout component available to you. When you write a real entry, just use the pieces you need and delete the rest. The drop cap on this first paragraph happens automatically.

Regular paragraphs flow naturally. The column width is set to a comfortable reading measure so even long entries stay easy on the eyes. Write as much or as little as you want.

Section Headings

Use h2 for major sections within an entry. These are Playfair Display in cream. Use h3 for subsections — they appear in gold.

A Subsection

This is what a subsection looks like. Useful when an entry covers multiple topics or locations.

"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes." — Marcel Proust
Sometimes the best thing about a place is the thing you weren't looking for.

This paragraph demonstrates how text wraps around a sidebar on desktop. The sidebar floats right and the prose flows naturally beside it. On mobile, the sidebar drops to full width. Use sidebars for practical tips, historical context, or fun asides that complement the main narrative.

Add another paragraph and the text continues to wrap. Once the sidebar ends, the text returns to full width. This gives you that textbook feel without any JavaScript or complex layout logic.

Historical Note: The Château de Tours was built in the 11th century and served as a royal residence before being converted to a military barracks during the Revolution. Today it houses the Centre de Création Contemporaine Olivier Debré.

A view of Tours

A view from the banks of the Loire. The cathedral spire is visible in the distance.

Panoramic view

Full-bleed images break out of the article column for panoramic or dramatic shots.

Photo one Photo two

Two-up photo grid — great for before/after or side-by-side comparisons.

Photo one Photo two Photo three

Three-up grid — works well for a series of related images.

A Table

Tables are styled for readability — gold headers, subtle row hover, clean borders.

Place What Verdict

Links

Links within entries get a subtle underline treatment that intensifies on hover. Use them to reference restaurants, landmarks, articles, or anything you want your readers to explore.

That's the full toolkit. Copy this file, delete the components you don't need, and start writing.
